ZERO to HERO at MSO 2024

Have you seen some Reels on Socials lately and you’re wondering, what is this West Coast Swing thing all about? Here is your chance to jump in at the deep-end and have a full on weekend experience.  Starting Friday evening with an Ice-breaker class and peaking on Sunday the opportunity to enter into our Newcomer Jack & Jill competition. All sorts of fun and shenanigans in store, specifically for the new attendees.
Leading the Zero to Hero course will be Leo Lorenzo, Lauren Jones, James Bartlett, Harold Baker & Vicky Valisauskaite.

Beginners west coast swing weekend event

When? | 27th-30th September 2024

Where? | Thistle Hotel, Heathrow Terminal 5, Bath road, Longford, UB7 0EB

How Much? | £99 

Zero to Hero Schedule – This is a catered schedule drawn from the main schedule with some added extras from the Crew.

This is the 2023 schedule. 2024 schedule will be very similar, update will be released closer to event.

Friday 
5-6.30pm | Hotel Check in and Event Registration.  Get into your room and pick up a wristband from MSO Registration desk.
7-9pm | Icebreaker Session with Harold & Vicky aka Z2H Crew
9pm | WCS Mixer – Join other new community members and play a few dance based games to get to know each other
9.30pm | Watch the Strictly Swing Competitions
10.30pm | Zero to Hero Room Party
11pm | Social dancing, hang out in the ballroom, have a dance or two and get ready to watch the Teachers Demo
You choose your bedtime, we’ll dancing til 6am, don’t feel you have stay up too late,  you’ll want plenty of sleep cause Saturday will be a Big day for everyone at the event.

Saturday 
10-12pm | Session 2, starting with Harold & Vicky and joined but some of our Pro Instructors to give you a flavour from the International West Coast Swing Community.
12-1pm | Take the plunge in the plunge in the main room with Kyle & Sarah
1.30pm | Break Lunch for and reflection on the event so far. Catch up with Harold & Vicky and chat about Competitions.
4.15pm | Meet to watch Jack & Jill competitions, Vicky will be competing in the Novice division as a Follower and Harold will dance in the Intermediate division as a Leader. You are the cheering squad so make some noise for your Z2H Crew.  Take a break after comps get some food, rest and come back for the evening where the theme is always a White Party, so wear something White to be seen.
9pm | Linedance | Solo – Come and learn easy party solo dances and have some fun in the Main room
10pm | Routine performances plus more
10.30pm | Spotlight Jack & Jill Finals, this will be EPIC don’t miss the opportunity to watch these contest LIVE and in the flesh!
TBC | Invitational J&J will pop up usually before 1am, it is one of the highlights of the event and well worth staying up for, we’ll make sure that you get a good seat, (although it’ll be on the floor)
Party will really get started after the Awards which we’ll get wrapped up as quickly as possible.  

Sunday 
10-12pm | Session 3, start putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Steve & Kate will join the Z2H Crew on Sunday to help guide and prepare you for Newcomer J&J.
Break for Lunch
2.45pm | Join the Level 2/3 class in the Main room with Maxence & Virginie
5.15pm | Newcomer Jack & Jill Prelim & Final followed by Awards.

After Comps we’ll meet in the bar to share some final thoughts and plan the next time we’ll all be meeting up or let you know the nearest WCS classes to you.

You’re welcome to stay for the Sunday party, that kick off from 9.30pm with Lee teaching a Steals class at 10pm =)

Other useful information…

You do not need to stay at the Hotel to take advantage of this ticket, although it is recommended for the best experience.
Parking is discounted to £7.50 per day
Entering the Newcomer Jack & Jill is optional
